Tickets First Class on long-distance trains

Are VVT tickets also valid in First Class on trains?

There is no classification on local trains, therefore VVT tickets are valid throughout Tyrol in the entire passenger area.

VVT tickets (with some exceptions such as the Tagesticket 2Plus) are recognised as valid for DB and ÖBB long-distance services (Railjet, ICE, EC, etc.), but only for Second Class. Tickets for First Class are ÖBB and Deutsche Bahn in-house fares. An additional payment to upgrade to First Class is only possible in accordance with the railway company’s fare conditions. This is stated both in the ÖBB and VVT Fare Conditions.
